Alhaji Muri Ajaka, the former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi State, has expressed profound grief over the sudden death of Buhari West, a staunch supporter from Ankpa Local Government Area (LGA).
In a heartfelt statement shared on his Facebook page on Monday, Ajaka described West as more than just a supporter, calling him “a brother” and a dedicated advocate for unity, justice, and development in Kogi State.
“I am deeply shocked by the sudden passing of Buhari West, a promising young man from Ankpa LGA, who believed so much in me and our project for a better Kogi State,” Ajaka wrote.
He highlighted West’s unwavering commitment to their shared vision, noting, “His love for our people and dedication to the ideals we share will never be forgotten.”
Ajaka extended his condolences to West’s family and friends, praying for their comfort and for eternal rest for the deceased. “I mourn this painful loss, and my prayers are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life,” he added.
According to local observers, Buhari West passed away earlier on Monday and was laid to rest in Ankpa LGA in accordance with Islamic rites.
The loss of West, described as a vibrant and influential figure in the community, has left many in Kogi State mourning, with tributes pouring in for his contributions to local politics and development.
