The vice chairman of Gurara local government of Niger State hon Joseph Barau has hinted that
nothing serious is happening since
LG employees feel they can stall the functioning of an elected LG Council. Honourable and patriotic Councillors of Gurara LG discovered financial impropriety and recklessness thereby suspended the chairman Hon. Yusuf Wali for 3 months beginning from 21/06/2021 to 21/09/2021.
Since the suspension of the chairman, the Honourable councillors aware that there shouldn’t be lacuna in the governance of the LG, the vice chairman was given a letter to act in the capacity of the Chairman.
Surprising thing is that, the LG directors are still taking orders from the suspended chairman.
Example, the Director personnel management chaired a security meeting. Another officer asked her if she had the authority to chair such meetings when an elected vice chairman was around. Her response was that the suspended chairman was attending asked her to while he attended another meeting.

Sad thing is that the directors are taking orders and spending LG funds from a suspended chairman.
The insubordination of the directors to the elected Council shows directly that the financial impropriety and recklessness the suspended chairman is alleged to have committed was done under their guide.
Reacted was the DPM who deny the allegation through a telephone calls, but councillors blasted the Dpm call her a liar from the pit of hell
