The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced plans to disconnect several high-profile customers from its power network due to outstanding debts. The affected customers include the Nigerian Police Force, Army Headquarters, and other government agencies.
In a statement released on Saturday, AEDC listed the affected customers, which also include the Federal Capital Development Authority, Kogi State Government, Niger State Government, and various federal ministries.
The company stated that it will commence disconnection on June 3, 2024, and urged all customers with debts to pay before the deadline to avoid service interruption. AEDC emphasized that timely payment of electricity bills is crucial for the continued operation and enhancement of its infrastructure.
