Buhari has taught Tinubu a bitter lesson — Adebanjo

by

Leader of pan-Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, has said the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has finally learned the hard way, that the North may seem like a vast wasteland, but is crafty and full of life when it comes to political games.

Adebanjo said Buhari is a disaster that could have been avoided if Tinubu had not allowed his obsession about ruling the country, to turned him into a fool whom the North used to have their way, and now are unwilling to relinquish power back to the South.

Tinubu had played a major role in Buhari’s emergence as president in 2015, and is believed to have helped Buhari achieved his dream having reached an agreement that he would eventually become Buhari’s successor after completing his second term in office.

But things have turned against Tinubu as Buhari is unwilling to honor the said agreement, but will instead, allow the party to decide who it’s presidential candidate would be.

Speaking in an interview with Arise Television back in June 10, 2021, Buhari said “You cannot sit there in Lagos, for instance, and decide the fate of APC on zoning. Therefore we should allow the party to decide.”

But Buhari and the APC is not the only thing against Tinubu’s ambition. His health, age, and hatred for his role in returning power to the North, and worst of all, having Buhari as President for 8 years, has turned many Nigerians against him.

In fact, a recent report by New Telegraph, citing sources close to Tinubu, claims the APC Leader is considering plan B should Buhari fail to fulfill his own part of the bargain by making him the APC presidential flag bearer during the party’s primaries next year.

Adebanjo who was responding on confusion surrounding power rotation or zoning, said the handwriting has been on the wall but Tinubu couldn’t see it because “he has become so paranoid of becoming president.”

He said, “Tinubu knows that they are deceiving him. Look at it; if it is not a deceit, you say you believe in one Nigeria and you say in this Nigeria, only a section of the country will be president, one section will not be there. Does that show unity?

“The mere saying that they will not allow the South-East to produce the president is an antidote to crisis in the country. How can we be in an organisation and one member of the organisation is not entitled to the benefits of the organisation.

“Buhari knows that he is deceiving Tinubu except that Tinubu doesn’t know or is stupid not to know because there is enough evidence. He has become so paranoid of becoming president that he couldn’t see the handwriting on the wall.”

“Is APC one? From what you know, which of the state of the federation is APC united to say this is going to be our candidate? The party will only be united in keeping the presidency in the North,” he added.
