ADC vows to make Kogi super confluence hub

National Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, has assured that his party will make Kogi a super confluence hub and number one in infrastructure, education, agriculture and industry.

The party, according to him, will also empower the youth and create opportunities and enabling environment to make Kogi streets, roads and farmlands safe for unprecedented transformation.

Speaking at the party’s secretariat in Abuja, yesterday, when a coalition of Kogi youths and students visited him to declare support for its candidate, the ADC chairman said Leke Abejide “has shown capacity through his track record as a two-term member of the House of Representatives, based on his constituency projects and a pedigree to work for the people.”

He also said the party would redress alleged chaos created by the outgoing administration in the state if its candidate, Abejide, is elected governor in the November 11 election.

Nwosu said: “The roads in Yagba East and West are better than any road in the entire state. I am confident that some of you from his (Abejide) constituency have also benefited from his generous initiatives and educational programmes,” assuring his readiness to work with the elders, women and youths to embrace equity values to promote peace, justice and security.”

“The ADC Education Empowerment Programme, which Abejide has successfully led in his constituency, will be extended to the entire state even before he becomes governor. WAEC fees will be paid for all Kogi indigenes and scholarships provided for indigent students. We shall continue this tradition in a robust and organised manner to make Kogi number one in education in a few years.

“To address the security challenge and support Kogi farmers, we will implement massive large-scale agriculture initiatives. New agripreneurs will be encouraged from our massive training and farm support programmes. All schools of agriculture and students studying agriculture will be supported on specific product cultivation schemes to make the state world record holder in the production of some essential produce, like sesame seeds, maize and cashew nuts.”

In his remarks, Abejide told the youth and students representatives of his readiness to serve the people, adding: “The people have seen the type of work I have done as their representative in the last few years. On my own, I just wanted to continue to serve my people, but our leaders from the three senatorial zones thought it wise that I should come I replicate what I have been doing in my constituency across the state.”

The youths, represented by their Chairman, David Amanah, and Secretary, Joyce Adegbite, said they were at the ADC secretariat because of their resolve to embrace ADC and support Abejide in the coming governorship election.
