Dear delegates and leaders of our Party in Kogi State, I am pleased to inform you that I have just successfully completed my screening and I have since been cleared by the Screening Committee as ably chaired by His Excellency, Governor Darius Ishaku, to contest the forthcoming State Governorship election.
At this juncture, I make to once again introduce my aspiration to you and the good that comes with it to our Party and to the future of our Party.
I stand humbled, knowing the enormity of what I ask of you, which is for you to consider me among all the also able and capable hands aiming for the ticket of our Party, for the top job in our dear State.
I understand very well that in asking for your support I am asking for much. I understand the pressure you are under on a daily basis. That shows how valuable you are to our Party and to the future of our dear State.
In our Party is found even right now, a collection of individuals with capacity to turn around for good, the destiny of our dear State that is almost on it’s knees due to the failure of leadership it has completely come under since our Party lost the State in 2015.
Now, we are back to that stage of deciding what next for our dear State. Here I am seeking for your support, not because I am the only good hand in the Party aspiring to be Governor of our State, certainly anybody that eventually clinches our Party’s ticket is good enough and better than any other outside of our Party to govern our dear State.
Personally and in proxy, I stand before your door and your heart on a daily basis to lobby you for support for my candidacy. No doubt, I have my reasons, having thought it through well enough and having done my preliminary consultations within our Party both in the State and at the national, well enough.
I will not promise heaven on earth, neither will I promise to turn our dear State around overnight, but one thing I know for sure is that right now, I parade the best qualities, plans and manpower team necessary for the present times to move our dear State forward and most importantly, to get it working again.
Right now, about two weeks to the much-anticipated Primary election, we have come definitely to the threshold of history, to be or not to be. The decision you will be taking on September 3rd will go beyond now and then, by implication. More still, the decision you will take on that day will affect our Party, either negatively or positively. It will either move our Party forward or backwards. The human ability to decide, lies solely in your hands at this critical juncture of affairs.
Myself is a team-player. I promise that if elected to fly the flag of our Party in November, I will carry all along. My aspiration does not discriminate at all, be it by tribal factor, age grade or material wealth. On board my space, everybody is important; whether rich or not, whether a man or a woman, whether an elder or a youth, whether connected or not. To me, everybody is a priority. On board my aspiration, the opinion of each and every person is key to my decision-making.
Furthermore, I believe nobody knows it all. I am a consensus builder. I am a detribalised Kogite. In my establishments, I have over the years given special priority to every Kogite, regardless of where he or she is from and regardless of who he or she is. That is me, doing my best possible over the years in my own private life and ways to better the lives and families of fellow Kogites. If given the opportunity to fly the flag of our Party, I will do more and if I ultimately become Governor I will do much more.
In terms of work experience, it will interest you to know that I am a manager. I believe that if I can manage co-operate affairs for about twenty (20) years successfully, I should by managerial experience, be able to lead our Party as a Governorship candidate and ultimately lead our State as Governor.
I want you to see in me, a figure that will build bridges within the Party and not divide it. As I am not a seasonal politician but a well-rooted Party member, I understand very well, the basics of politics especially as it concerns our State Party chapter. I understand very well from personal experience, participation and regular interactions with Party leaders, members and supporters over the years, the nature and challenges of our State Party chapter. I assure you, I have the present-day capacities to meet those challenges as a Governorship aspirant and ultimately if voted as Governor.
Very golden to me is the fact that we are a body of persons with interests. Be rest assured, those interests are safest and most secured with me as a Governorship aspirant.
I want you to be rest assured that if I am voted as Governorship candidate, I will not take for granted the interest of any Party member, leader or supporter.
I want to assure you, if I am voted for at the Primary election, my candidacy will attract persons into the Party including old friends that left us for other Parties in recent years and times.
I am persuaded. I hope I am able to persuade you as well, even on continuous avenues and opportunities to address you, my dear delegates and leaders.
I believe you will take the right decision by voting for me, come September 3rd 2019.
Until then, continue to let your doors be open to me for continuous consultation, as I am leaving no stone unturned in a bid to get you convinced in your many all-important numbers to find it needful to give me your delegate-votes at the Primary election, that I might be elected the flag-bearer of our dear Party in the forthcoming State Governorship election slated for November 16th 2019.
God bless the Local Government Chairmen, delegates and leaders of our Party in all the 21 Local Governments in our State,
God bless the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi State chapter,
God bless the State Working Committee (SWC) of our dear Party chapter,
God bless the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the national level,

Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, Kogi State PDP Governorship aspirant
