Abejide Initiative: Bello’s Panicky Announcement To Pay WAEC Fees Desperate Move To Thwart Abejide’s Initiative – ADC

by

Spokesperson of the Leke/Omede Campaign Council of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State, Hon. Shola Adebola, has criticized Governor Yahaya Bello’s last-minute decision to pay for the WAEC fees of all students in the state, calling it a “panicky antic”, just after the announcement of Hon. Leke Abejide of ADC to pay for all students in all 21 Local Government Areas of the State.

He said “Governor Bello’s sudden decision to pay for the WAEC fees of students in Kogi State is a tacit admission that he is worried about Hon. Leke Abejide’s popularity and the threat he poses to his cousin and little-known APC flagbearer, Usman Ododo, in the upcoming gubernatorial election.

“Bello’s move can be seen as a desperate attempt to steal Abejide’s initiative and win over voters. However, the people of Kogi State are not fooled. They know that Bello has neglected education for the past seven and half years and that he is only taking action now because he is afraid of losing. Voters will vote for Hon. Abejide on November 11 because he is the only candidate with a genuine commitment to education and the future of Kogi State.”

Hon. Samuel continued, “This is nothing more than a desperate attempt to buy votes. But it will not work. Kogites know that he has no real commitment to education or the future of our children.”

In stark contrast to Governor Bello, Hon. Leke Abejide has consistently shown his dedication to education by personally paying WAEC fees for students in his Federal Constituency and extending this gesture to neighbouring Federal Constituency. He already covered 5 local government areas and plans to extend the same to all 21 local government areas. His commitment to education goes beyond mere election tactics and is firmly rooted in a genuine desire to provide equal opportunities for all students.

“It is clear that Governor Bello is simply copying Hon. Abejide’s idea because he is afraid of the ADC candidate’s popularity,” Samuel said. “But copying an idea is not the same as having a vision. Hon. Abejide has a clear vision for education in Kogi State. He understands that education is the key to our state’s development and success. He is committed to investing in our schools and our teachers so that all children in Kogi State have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”

Hon. Samuel stated that the people of Kogi State deserve a governor who is committed to education and the future of their children.

“Hon. Leke Abejide is that governor. He has a clear vision for education in Kogi State and he is committed to investing in our schools and our teachers so that all children in Kogi State have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Kogites will vote for Hon. Leke Abejide on November 11 because he is the only candidate with a real plan for education and the future of Kogi State,” he added.
