A PDP governorship aspirant, Adoji, has pledged innovative and programmatic governance.

by
Adoji made this known during a press briefing in Abuja after obtaining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nomination and intent forms.
He stated that from all indication and antecedental evidences, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) present the only credible platform to execute projects and programs that will not only restore the confidence of people in governance but also provide them with democratic deliverables.
“The decision to run for the governorship race of Kogi state is not one that was arrived at in a haste and of the wishful desires. The more reason why it has to take this long for me to pick both the intent and nomination forms today.
“Having ran for the Kogi East senate seat at the last February general election whose both process and outcome were marred and characterized by various malpractices and inconsistencies, one would have naturally want to take a break. However, the desire to contribute my quota to the improvement of the lives of our people has compelled me to succumb to their entreaties to aspire for governorship of the state.
“My political aspiration is driven my sheer passion for service and the need to provide credible and people oriented leadership which has eluded our state and people since our return to democracy. I am not in race for personal gains, but to offer myself as an instrument for community service. Our goal is to improve the living condition of our people through innovative and programmatic governance.
“I am not unaware of the economic challenges coupled with the prevalent ineptitude in leadership that paved the state presently, with the good people of the state who are yearning for positive change and transformation, will evolve a template that will one rejuvenate the state. We all know that for a better Kogi state, all that is required is a communion that functions properly, the leadership that is pro-actively responsive, and a people that are deservedly hopeful and forward looking.
“Moreover, I am wholeheartedly disposed to providing by leadership by example and at the fore-front in promoting the spirit in all Kogites to ask not, what Kogi state can do for us, but what we can do for Kogi state. From all indication and antecedental evidences, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) present the only credible platform to execute projects and programs that will not only restore the confidence of people in governance but also provide them with democratic deliverables. It is my fervent believe that all our party faithful and the good people of Kogi state will join hands in the process of restoring the fortunes of the state as will be exemplified in my emergence as our party flag bearer at the primaries.
“My desire and love for a paradigm shift from the present leadership style of been what I say but not what I do to that of leadership by example is borne out of the maladministration, misgovernance, misrule that has characterized the APC Leadership in Kogi state.
“In conformity with global best practices, payment of civil servants and political office holder’s salaries and emoluments is not an achievement, but a routine legitimate duty of the State Chief Executive. I have come to provide responsible governance and to serve our father land, the fortunes of Kogi state has to witness a complete and holistic transformation from the current stereotype consumer economy to producer’s economy considering the abundance of natural resources in the state at commercial quantity(s)
“My call on the generality of the people of Kogi state across the three senatorial district is that, we should all embrace the tenet of democratic governance as against the tyranny, oppression, violence and all manner of chicanery that is currently in vogue in the state. The core value of human existence should be upheld in order to usher in a re-engineered socio-political and economic development in Kogi state in an atmosphere of peace and unity. The comatose educational sector shall be reinvigorated in such a way that the required infrastructure and man-power shall be provided for our pupils, with payment of full salaries to teachers and local government workers as against the present percentage payment that has pervaded the system for the last four years. The secondary and tertiary institutions are not left out. This lack luster attitude of the current leader who have failed to pay attention to the sector I shall not limit my transformation agenda to education alone, but equally give attention to health sector.
“It has become imperative to move our hospitals and health centers from mere consulting clinics to first class health care facilities which not only guarantees the safety and good health of our citizens, but also provide adequate compensation system to our Doctors and other medical practitioners, who have been relegated to the background in compensation of their quality services.
“Agriculture, youth and sports, and other ministries for an enduring legacies of all-inclusive act of governance.
“I view the youths from a higher pedestal that just as leaders of an indefinite tomorrow. I see them as a real agent of positive change and the flag bearer of the progressive and sustainable movement to a better tomorrow. Our youths should not be relegated to play the role of ballot boxes snatchers, and armed wing of political parties and aspirants whose children are not playing any serious role in electioneering processes.
“The security of lives and properties will be a cardinal point of our administration God willing, the insecurity in the state shall be tackled holistically as against the current trend where there are incessant cases of kidnapping, thuggery armed robbery, hostage taking, rape intolerance of higher magnitude to mention but a few we shall evolve an all-encompassing strategy that will usher in peaceful co-existence among the citizenry.
“The civil service is the engine room of any government, I therefore present myself to ensure that the civil service is a repositioned in line with the best global practice where hierarchy and decorum shall be sustained,” he said.
