*As the enlarged PDP northern caucus meets today to pick a National Chairman for the party before the October 31st National Convention of the PDP, it has a date with history*
For the records, the BOT chair is from Northcentral, so it makes political sense that the party doesn’t pick its Chairman from the same zone.
Secondly, the National Secretary invariably is been expected from the southeast and a Christian, it makes much political sense not to also pick another Christian National Chairman.
Thirdly, the northwest have the largest political figures, as such picking a National Chairman from that region makes much more political and strategic sense.
Fourthly, PDP must produce a National Chairman who have the institutional memories, experience and hands-on capacity on both party administration and political governance.
*Fifthly, though Governor Shema, Sen.Ayu And Sen.Suleiman Nazifi, Sen.Abdul Ningi are all fine gentlemen, there’s no doubt that we all know the best and we must go for it*.
The PDP has 3 crucial governorship elections in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun states, less than a year to its presidential primaries and less than 2years to its make or mar 2023 general elections.
*Therefore, the National Chairman of the PDP must be someone who command respects amongst its BOT, it’s Governors, it’s forum of state chairmen, the NWC, and indeed the youth and women constituency of the party*
Without any ambiguity, our choice is so clear – we must choose wisely.
