Igala Leading Nollywood Actor: Tom Makolo Jnr Wins Best Actor Award

Kogi State born movie Producer and Actor, Thompson Makolo Jnr, has emerged the best overall Actor at the just concluded 4th KADUNA International Film Festival.

Thompson Makolo’s Jnr movie titled: “Acholo” has made a lot of fame, has remained a blockbuster, saw the Kogi Born Actor emerging top amongst others top notable notch Actors from across the country.

Aside emerging the best actor, Thompson Makolo Jnr’s two other movies got nominated in the BEST INDIGENOUS MOVIE OF THE YEAR and
BEST ACTOR OF THE YEAR Category at the Kaduna film Festival.

Speaking with the Nigerianpost, Thompson Makolo Jnr. described the feat achieved at the Kaduna Film Festival as a validation of the long efforts of many years.

The Kogi Born Producer explained that as a film maker, getting selected, screened and nominated by major stakeholders in the film industry nationally and internationally, particularly in the indigeneous film category, confirms that the Kogi State has all takes in terms of potentials and talents to compete favourably.

While noting that the Award and the two nomination at the Kaduna Film Festival has once again put Kogi State in the limelight positively, expressed satisfaction that the state made the desired impact at the Festival.

The Movie Director and Producer says he feels humbled and inspired by the winning and nomination, says it will enable him to do more in projecting indigeneous films and the industry.

Thompson Makolo Jnr called on the Kogi State Government to Patronise the indigeneous movie actors from the state and to give them encouragement and a pat on the back when they do well and need support.
