All bandits are bad and dangerous, but some of them are more notorious than others. The names of four of the most notorious bandits that were caught on fire by the raining bombs from the Nigerian Airforce Alpha-Jet bombardments yesterday have been identified and revealed by the military. They were four notorious brothers namely, Alili Bandiro, Dayyabu Bala, Bala Nagwarjo, and Sulele Bala.

The brothers have been terrorizing the entire Southern Kaduna and Zamfara. They are so notorious that they have organized multiple successful kidnappings of school children. Due to their notorious pervasiveness, most time they killed their victims even when a ransom is paid to them in dollars or Naira. They often torture their victims, sometimes molest them because they have turned themselves into animals.

There was a time they ambushed and killed 15 Police officers on patrol with heavy and sophisticated weapons. The scariest thing about their attacks is that they usually send a “Notice Letter” to targeted communities with a date and time they will attack, and they would show up as promised. Their audacity has no bound, they were unstoppable until yesterday because they change locations like chameleon before and after they carry out their nefarious activities.

Four of them and many more were neutralized yesternight in the recent operation by Nigerian Air Force HQ and ground troops who surrounded the entire forest. Their bodies were confirmed by the ground troops, the government has placed a wanted notice on them for this long. All the four were caught on fire that bandits and terrorists now fear and forcing them to surrender.

The military Alpha jet is doing wonders to them, it has maintained its presence over bandits’ enclaves and routes, to ensure the safety of innocent citizens within the area. The limitations of a human pilot and loiter time of aircraft means there will always be a blind spot. This is what has kept most bandits alive. But when you have drones like the Wing Loong II and CH-4 armed attack drones, that are not limited by human pilots and able to stay airborne for 30 hours covering a geographical area, that bloodspot that has kept most terrorists alive immediately evaporates.
