We need 4G Network: NCC to NASS: We don’t have adequate network coverage for electronic transmission of results

by

The Nigeria Communications Commission, NCC, has said that it does not have an adequate network covering the 119,000 polling units across the country to enable a seamless electronic transmission of election results.

The NCC Executive Commissioner, Technical Services, Ubale Maska, stated this on Friday while appearing before the House of Representatives to provide insights into the possibility of transmitting election results via electronic means.

According to Mr Maska, seamless electronic transmission of election results cannot be possible because in all the polling units studied in 2018, only about 50% have 2G and 3G networks.

He added that 4G network which is higher only exists where there is 3G network.
