The Senate has described the decision of the NSA as hasty with regards to the legal recognition of a security outfit, NATFORCE/ NATCOM,as the legislative arm is considering the efficacy of the new body, OBSERVERS TIMES report.
This is coming at the backdrop of a statement issued on Sunday by the office of the National Security Adviser,NSA on the legality or otherwise of the body.

‘The statement credited to NSA is entirely preemptive and lacked synergy between the two arms of government,the legislature and the executive.’
‘It is already in the public domain that the National Assembly embraced the modes and operations of the new body,hence decided to fused it’s working template, and already had first reading on the possibility of legalising the new outfit.’
‘It is in the public domain that the Senate has made it’s position known on the creation of NATFORCE/ NATCOM.’ Senator Chukwuka Utazi,Enugu North said.
‘The House of Representatives has also confirmed the possibility of toeing the same line with the Senate on NATFORCE/ NATCOM issue in view of the growing demands for securtiy solutions, to series of civil crises.’

‘The twin roles the new NATFORCE/ NATCOM avail Nigerians will be the best thing that will happen to the country in recent time,so the statement credited to the NSA came too early.’
‘Instead of allowing the growing militancy of youths into unprofitable ventures that will create multiple crises across the country inview of resistance and uneasy calm all round the country,the teeming youths could be deployed to secure our national assets,as well as become gainfully employed.’ A member of the House of Representatives who does not want his name mentioned for securtiy reasons advised the NSA.’
‘Already,many of our youths across the country have been engaged by the new para-military body,with determination to secure the territorial and curb the internal crises in the country,so what else do we expect from the new body.’
He toed the line of the Senate,saying NATFORCE /NATCOM is the most desiring body that could be used to augement the growing securtiy lapses and civil strife in the country.
‘What Nigerians need now is a wholistic synergy between the security outfits including NATFORCE /NATCOM,so as to nip in the bud the needless uncalmness heralding the once pride country.’

He pleaded with the NSA to exercise restraints in handling some delicate securtiy issues, so as to guarantee the continuous peace,unity and progress of the country.
Securtiy experts also bare their mind on the unfolding scenario over the existence of NATFORCE NATCOM,saying it is a good developement when allow to fly.
Accoding to Abdullahi Mohammed,a security consultant and retired army officer,says NATFORCE/ NATCOM is the best thing that will happen to Nigeria in view of the current securtiy challenges.
