Bearly 24hrs after the former governor Dr. Ayodele Fayose adopted Honorable Bisi Kolawole who is also PDP Chairman in Ekiti state as his governorship candidate in the coming 2022 gubernatorial race, a source close to Fayose who pleaded not to be mentioned confided in our reporter that Honorarable Aribisala lambasted the delegation in their attempt to persuade him to step down on Fayose’s instruction.
Honorarable Aribisala is the current National Treasurer of PDP and a strong governoship Aspirant from Ikole local govt area of Ekiti State. The source said Aribisala walked them out of his house without wasting time.
Aribisala had earlier paid official 2 million and another 1million for merriment to Oshoko Political Assembly (OPA) a platform put together by Fayose himself to extort Aspirants within his structure and another 1 million on his visit to the State Working Committee of PDP in Ekiti.
“The reason for such action is still unknown to us but we believe with more efforts from our leader, Dr. Fayose, he will step down for Otunba Bisi Kolawole” the source assured.
Hon. Deji Ogunsakin, Hon. Segun Adekola and Hon. Oladimeji in Osoko Political family had earlier stepped down for Bisi Kolawole.
All attempts to reach out to the former deputy governor Professor Kolapo Olusola Eleka on the development proved abortive. With the look of things in Ekiti PDP, all is not well after the adoption of the incumbent Chairman most especially at the time people are looking up to broker peace between Senate Olujimi and Fayose factions.
