DG PGF commends APC for rejecting Fani Kayode

by

The Director-General of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, PGF, Dr Salihu Lukman says the rejection of former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode by members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from defecting to the party despite meeting with the leadership of the party is an attestation of the strong internal democratic culture of the party.

In a statement titled “APC, and the Question of Values,” Dr Lukman said the fact that members were able to reject Fani-Kayode’s attempt to join the party meant the APC had values.

Dr Lukman who is a Chieftain of the APC commended the internal democratic credentials of the governing party, which he alleged was lacking in the opposition political parties.

He said the issue of Mr Fani-Kayode’s drifted attempt to join the APC despite his right to political association, was a clear message to those who were nursing the idea of joining the party.

While applauding the leaders of the APC for allowing him and other members to commend freely on matters affecting the party, Dr Lukman explained that the privilege would not be taking for granted.
