As quoted by the International Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC) which is under the presidency in its website at https://www.icrc.gov.ng, the project is valued as $2.8billion, and has been reviewed and funded by the administration of President Buhari. Analyst has described the project to be one of the President’s resolve to develop local content and capacity, as the pipeline project is going to be fed from the existing domestic.

As approved by the Federal Executive Council, the gas pipeline project is of the capacity to transport as much as 2.2 billion cubic feet of gas per day, and projected for completion within a 24-month timeline. With this enormous quantity of gas available for transportation, it is of note that such is going to support improved production of more power supply to the national grid, as against the present 7,500 megawatts of power, and also provides employment opportunity for myriads of Nigerians!
