TEEN AFRICA VISITS NBC, Ag. Director General, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba

A Team from Teen Africa, led by its CEO, Mr. Charles Novia, a Nollywood producer, in company of the General Manager, Lisa Ifeakandu, paid a visit on the Ag. Director General, Prof. Armstrong Idachaba, today, 27th July, 2020, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The visit was to inform the Commission of a new program for teenagers titled “Children’s Teen Program”, that will be on the airwaves from the month of August,2020, in the country and across Africa.
Mr. Novia noted that the program, which will be aired on DSTV and on some terrestrial television platforms, is aimed at building the largest eco-system for children in Nigeria and will be strictly for teenagers, with 98% original content. He added that the program is to ensure that teenagers are able to identity with their culture and be proud of their languages and backgrounds.
Mr. Charles Novia further disclosed that, presently ‘ *Teen Africa’* has a production hub in Lagos, Abuja and Port- Harcourt with a plan to cover the whole of Africa.
The Ag. DG expressed his appreciation to the CEO, ‘Teen Africa’, on the new initiative. He acknowledged the timeliness of the vision of the project theme.
Prof. Idachaba disclosed that for years, the Commission had thought about a teen children program as a strategic media policy in order to engage the youth with a purpose of refocusing them for national development.
The DG further stated that the NBC shares in the philosophy of the project in terms of giving moral, cultural and entrepreneurial direction to this age group and commended Mr. Novia for the initiative.
The DG also assured ‘Teen Africa’ of the Commission’s unflinching support in ensuring the success of the project.
