Retrieving Election Guns From Thugs is the Only Solution to Kogi Insecurities – Okai tells Bello

Without mincing words, the insecurity challenges in Kogi State is metamorphosing from bad to worse as Kogi citizens are now living at the Mercy of robbers and Kidnappers, last week was tagged the saddest day in the lives of every inhabitants of Isanlu community of Kogi West Senatorial district, it happened when armed robbers stormed the First Bank situated in the area with sporadic gunshots that enabled them made away with millions of Naira, killing nine policemen and three customers in that process.


While the state is yet to recover from that sad incident, another Igbo Businessman Has just been Shot Dead By Kidnappers, alongside two others along lokoja/ Abuja expressway.

Reacting to this sad incident is an Abuja based human rights activist Usman Austin Okai, who expressed his dissatisfaction in the State government in an aggressive fashion.

Okai who expressed his view through a Facebook post was quoted as saying, “Kogi state yet to commence programs aimed at retrieving excessive guns on ground, I raised this alarm on the implication of too much guns in the hands of untrained people. They called me names and noise maker. I insist, so many guns in the hands untrained personnel, all because someone must win an election.”

Austin Okai believes that, the Best and only way to reduce the high rate of crime in Kogi state, is to track those thugs used during the 2019 elections and disarm them.
