The Edo State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP has accused the Godwin Obaseki led administration of squandering N14.9 bn it received for   disbursement for the First quarter of 2020.

In Statement on Wednesday by the state publicity Secretary, Chris Nehikhare, the PDP noted that Governor Obaseki and the All Progressives Congress, APC are running an opaque government

“According to the NEITI Quarterly Review-Monthly, net FAAC Disbursement for the First quarter of 2020, Edo State received 14.91 billion Naira after deductions. We are aware that Edo State Board of Internal Revenue rakes in N2 billion Naira monthly as internally generated revenue. If you add the 6 billion Naira IGR for the first quarter to the FAAC allocations, it means Edo state received almost 21 billion Naira in the first 90 days of the year 2020.”

The party queried the Edo government on what the judge resources was used for.

“We cannot point at what this money has been used for, but it is alleged that in the same period, EDSG deducted 1.5 billion Naira from the security vote for “security”

The PDP promised to run a transparent and open government if elected into office.

“Where is OUR money?…It just doesn’t add up!! The incoming PDP government will publish its income statement and give account of every kobo spent of Edo money to Edo people.

“We will be transparent and accountable. Under our government, you will know where our money is, and it will add up! It’s time to RESET Edo.”
