The prayers of those in the camp of the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Mr. Edward David Onoja are for divine intervention in a case of criminal falsification of age brought against Mr. Onoja by the Governorship Candidate of SPD, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti.
Mr Onoja, under oath swore and deposed to the two different affidavits quoting different years of birth.
In one of the affidavit/age declaration form which was deposed to on 18th October, 2000 and submitted to his former employer, Guarantee Trust Bank, Mr Onoja claimed that he was born on 9th August, 1975.
Invariably, Mr. Edward Onoja in the documents he submitted to INEC claimed that he was born on 9th August, 1974.
The Governorship candidate of SDP in the last concluded election in Kogi, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti has dragged Edward Onoja and his principal, Governor Yahaya Bello to the election tribunal praying that the court nullifies the election that declared APC candidate Alh. Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Mr. Edward Onoja as candidates that won the election. She prayed the election tribunal to declare her the winner in the just concluded election.
The double birth certificate was tendered and accepted as evidence today in the court without any objection from the camp of Mr Onoja’s legal camp.
There is unusual calm and apprehension in the camp of the Governor and his deputy as they be disqualified and their candidacy nullified if proven beyond all reasonable doubt,
