Despite the fear of global anxiety created by the new Corona virus pandemic, Nassarawa State government seems to be unperturbed and, the only state still sleeping in terms of preparedness, and awareness for the world most dreaded virus.
The state govenor who had contacts with Abba Kyari,the President’s Chief of staff has only gone into self isolation to only protect himself, living the entire people of NasarawA state to their fate.
“With COVID -19 in Abuja,the nation’s capital and its proximity to Abuja, one can say that Nasarawa state and it’s citizens is one of the most vulnerable state with Niger, Kaduna and Plateau state already declared locked down in their various states.”
OBSERVERS TIMES checks into the ever busy Nassarawa state satellite towns boundary between the FCT, like Mararaba,Masaka,Keffi,Nyanya and other environs,life seems normal, as no single isolation centres or emergency kits and equipment to check the spread of the disease in any of these areas.
OBSERVERS TIMES observes that, the lackadaisical reactions of the state government, in view of the easy spread of the new pandemic will pose a serious threats to residents of the FCT and other neighbouring states that have lock down for obvious reasons of controlling and checking the effects of COVID-19.
“Nasarawa state Governor must be told to wake up, as his inability to take timely decision is endangering the lives of Nasarawa state residents to avoidable disaster,as well as the adjoining states.”
His inactions according to reports had resulted into the negative reactions of both the political class,voluntary organsition,organised private sector,wealthy individuals from supporting efforts by the federal government to curtail the spread of the scourge .
