Kogi Democratic Group KDG has appealed to Kogi governor,Yahaya Bello to in the spirit of his regular payments of civil servants salaries and massive condolence visit during his Mother’s demise, to pay up the entitlements of his immediate office staff span for many months from last year in 2019.
This passionate appeal became necessary as domestic staffers of the goverrment and Goverrment House has been denied of basic entitlements since August last year.
Abdul Abdul maintained that for staffers who went through the rigour of electioneering campaigns and the stress of crises ridden and fully militarised election, exposing them to so many hazards deserved to be compensated by paying their dues.
He said it is risky and dangerous to the state government to feign attention to those exposed to it’s official secrets of the goverrment, ranging from the Police,DSS,Civil defence,Road safety and other immediate staff of the governor’s office.
The goverrment according to sources is always taken advantage of it’s immediate staff in Government House to the detriment of their survival inspite their exposure to so many dangers.
Kogi state government in the middle of it’s first tenure kept it’s immediate staffers gasping in paucity of funds, by the refusal to offset their entitlements for years,but was later offset after an outcry from several well meaning bodies.
The decision to revert to the old order is Inimical to the survival of the staff of Goverrment House, particualrly at this critical time of self isolation as a result of the effects of ongoing Corona virus pandemic ravaging countries will not augur well for their survival .
