Kogi East: Senator Jibrin Isah Echocho, Cassava Empowerment Program Comes to an End.

Senator representing Kogi-east, Dr Jibrin Isah Echocho successfully ended the empowerment and training of women/youths in Cassava Processing and Garri-making across Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency.

Declaring the two days event open by Ibrahim Ahmadu, the Legislative Aid to the Senator, the participants were urged to pay attention to the facilitators keenly to enable them acquire the basic skills required and to use the fund to set up and manage their businesses to become employer of labour.

The National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, represented by Musa Idris Ibrahim, highlighted the long-term benefits the participants stand to gain and charged them to utilize this golden opportunity to promote the production of Garri and other cassava products to contribute their quota to the diversification of economy by the Federal government which in turn will lead to the growth of National Domestic Products, Mr Musa Idris added.

He further appreciated the unusual efforts of Sen. Jibrin Isah in bringing such a monumental empowerment program to his people, adding that he has not witnessed such in the history of Kogi East.

Hon. Abubakar Yakubu, one of the lead facilitators also eulogised Echocho for his selfless gestures and passion in touching people’s lives at every opportunity.

Hon. Yakubu commenced his lecture on Cassava Processing. He deeply explained to the participants the need to focus on the quality of their products and the need to produce and how to achieve on the production of such an outstanding product to be the best in competitive market. He urged the participants to take the training seriously in order to gain the necessary skills and experience before engaging in the business.

The state coordinator of EPN, Sufyan Adam, commended Sen Jibrin Isah Echocho for the wonderful opportunity and for not reneging on delivering the dividends of democracy to his people.

He advised the participants to take advantage of the training to better their lives forever.

The program witnessed donation of Garri-Cassava Processing machines and cash. The beneficiaries cut across Dekina/Bassa Local Government.

One of the participants, Hajia Salimetu Ibrahim, appreciated Sen Jibrin Isah Echocho on behalf of her fellow beneficiaries, prayed Allah to enrich him in health to do more.

You will however, recall that Sen Jibrin Isah Echocho extended the similar gestures to Ankpa Federal Constituency earlier this year, while items of hospital equipment were donated across Idah federal constituency.
