Senator Dino Melaye as part of his sports initiative, have donated sporting equipment to Anglican Science Secondary School Iyara as a way of promoting grassroots Sports.
The Senator, represented by his S. A on Media, Mr. Gideon Ayodele says school sports competition is one important means of discovering young talents in sports in the country.
According to him, he said that it is interesting to see pupils doing sports. He explained that Sports is an essential part of the school curriculum, adding that it provides for the physical well-being of the pupils.
“As part of education, schools should not only raise scientist and artists, but also athletes, in the likes of Blessing Okhagbare, Ajayi Yinka and the Williams sisters which is in line with our mission and vision where building a total society where all the fields of knowledge are balanced”
He further hinted that more schools will still benefit from Senator Dino Melaye sports initiative in the provision of some sporting equipment within the next few weeks.
