The document, titled FCCPC Advisory on CBN Guide to Bank Charges, 2020, was made public today by the agency through its Twitter page @FCCPCNigeria, and which was Retweeted by the Head of the Council, Mr Babatunde Irukela.
The launch of this document means that FCCPC under Mr Irukela leadership is determined to create the needed awareness and ensure strict implementation of the CBN’s approved charges. The FCCPC has already commenced monitoring to ensure strict compliance of CBN’s policy on POS by filling station and supermarket operators. In fact, Mr Irukela personally drove round Lagos state and toured several filling stations and supermarkets to ensure strict compliance of the new policy.
It is instructive to note that FCCPC is the successor of now defunct Consumer Protection Council, and it is primarily responsible to protect the interest of consumers from being taken advantage of.
Irukera through his twitter handle personally commend the management of Heyden Filing Stations in Lagos for compliance.
