Christmas Celebration:Zakari Alfa Felicitates with the people of Kogi state, preaches tolerance, forgiveness among religious faithful

The former commissioner of finance and a gubernatorial aspirant under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party in the recently conducted governorship election, Hon Zakari Alfa has congratulated the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas celebration which marks the birth of Jesus Christ. He gave this indication while hosting a group of journalists who paid him a courtesy visit in his Abuja residence on the Eve of Christmas. However, he reiterated his commitment to building stronger ties between the dominant religious faithfuls in Kogi state through voluntary sensitization as a way of entrenching peaceful coexistence and creating a sustainable foundation for tolerance among the people. This is a unique day, a time for sober reflection to re-examine and rededicate our relationship with the Lord who created us not just to serve him but also to appreciate and show love to humanity by strengthening the bonds of brotherhood beyond bothers irrespective of tribes or religious affiliations.
“I am a firm believer of Jesus Christ ,the Quranic Propeht Isa who is largley adored and celebrated among Muslims as one of the Prophets of God who is reputed for preaching peace among the creations of God,”he stated. The religion of Christianity ,just like Islam which represents peace must be seen to be practiced in accordance with the preaches in the scripture by holding firmly constant its doctrines which must never be compromised, he further added .
He appealed to the people to leverage on the divine privilege to pray for the progress and development of the state noting that ,in doing this, we must first and foremost accept the fact ,in spite of any perceived tribal or religious permutations ,our oneness before God is nonnegotiable hence we must see ourselves as brothers and sisters.
We must eschew animosity or violence in whatever colouration and work together as an indivisible entity. We must allow love to take its place in our existence if we must expect progress and development and most importantly remembering the needy.
