Build up to Kogi governorship election, Prince Abubakar Audu’s political family have insisted that no amount of coloration,change of name or nomenclature been bandied by Honourable James Abiodun Faleke’s group of APC and Hajiya Halima Alfa’s new APC group,will affect the former governors political empire,insisting that the camp remains an indivisible and indisoluble political family
This is at the background of aborted meeting held between the old Audu/Faleke faction of APC to prevail on the members of the late political sage, followers to join forces with Faleke/Hajiya Halima to support the re-election of Yahaya Bello in November, to pave way to realising the Western senatorial ambition of producing the next governor in 2023
Observer times revealed that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has already brokered a political arrangement, promising to cease power to Audu/Faleke Group in 2023, zone to West to favour Faleke,while Hajiya Halima Alfa will replace the current National Woman Leader of APC, Hajiya Salamatu Baiwa Umar-Eluma in the next dispensation
Governor Yahaya Bello, who is desperate to return to Lugard house in November election,has promised to cease power to his Chief of staff and current deputy governorship Candidate,Edward Onoja,hence the sign of 16 years already been displayed by BelloOnoja political force,at the same time assuring the westerners as the next Governor of Kogi state,even though,he retracted lately,saying power belongs to God
But Faleke/Halima group seems to be having upper hand, as the National Leader of APC,Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu was involved in the signed and formalised agreement
The meeting convened by James Abiodun Faleke to pacify the large followers of Audu’s family, insisted that the interest of Igala race,nation and candidate is paramount,hence Chief Faleke has decided to regurgitate his earlier stance of over four years opposition to the leadership of Yahaya Bello in Kogi,only to take cognisance of his own personal interest and not that of the large politcal family
Comrade Daniel Isah,former Director General who led the Audu’s political dynasty, vowed and reiterated their earlier stance, of not going to support the political ambition of Governor Yahaya Bello for the November election under any guise
Hajiya Halima, the former BOT member of PDP, who left the party after creating disaffection between the top leaders of the party in Kogi,by creating confusion among the party leaders through eavesdrop, that had negatively affected the party re-join the APC she left soon after the death of Prince Abubakar Audu and swearing in of Govenor Yahaya Bello as Kogi governor
Some members of defunct Audu/Faleke’s group wondered why is it now that Governor Yahaya Bello had deemed the political family fit for recognition, having exhausted the tenure of the former leader ,saying he is a politcal ingrate and abberation to human development
They reiterated that under no guise or conjecture, will the Late Prince Abubakar Audu’s political family, identify with the re-election of Kogi Govenor,Alhaji Yahaya Bello
