KOGI EAST ELDER’S COUNCIL (KEEC)
PRESS RELEASE
After a careful appraisal of the evolving scenario in the politics of Kogi State vis-à-vis the primaries of various political parties, kogi East Elders Council took a critical decision on the way forward in the overall interest of the entire Kogi State at its emergency meeting held on the 31st of August, 2019.
The Council appreciates the effort, commitment, sacrifice, and patriotic zeal of all aspirants who indicated interest to contest the forthcoming Governorship election in Kogi State. The Council has monitored with keen interest the nomination processes of the political parties so far.
Consequently, the following resolutions were adopted
1. That HE Captain Idris Wada is the preferred choice of Kogi East Elders Council for the September 3rd 2019Peoples Democratic Party Governorship primaries.
2. The choice of Captain Idris Wada is based on his past experience in governance during his first tenure.
3. The choice of Captain Idris Wada will enable thestate situate the issue of power rotation.
4. The Council urges all other aspirants in the PDP to accept this decision for the mutual benefit of the various interest groups in the state.
5 The Kogi East Elders Council hereby appeal to all Delegates to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship primaries on the 3rd of September, 2019 to file behind Captain Idris Wada as the flag bearer of the party at the November 16th Governorship election in Kogi State.
