Senator George Akume Should Stop Arming Tiv Youths to Kill Jukun People

by
Part of the problem that has has prolonged the Tiv/Jukun crisis is the war-like attitude of the Tiv. They are bloodthirsty and will do everything to cause problems that could lead to fighting and bloodletting.
The so-called Save the Tiv in Taraba Group just displayed the same attitude by issuing a threat against Gov Darius Ishaku. The group said it was giving the Governor 30 days to end the crisis, failing which it will cause the Governor to be impeached. How foolish can an organisation be! Does this group control the state House of Assembly members?
If the Tiv are now war weary, they should go tell Senator George Akume to stop funding the war. They should return his money and the weapons he has provided for them and tell him that they are tired and would rather work for peaceful resolution of the crisis than continue fighting a needless war.
Threats and intimidation do not help in a crisis situation. They only exacerbate and prolong crisis.
Gov Ishaku has done a lot and he is still doing a lot to ensure quick resolution of the crisis. If visiting the crisis areas can end the crisis, it would have done so a long time ago.
Ishaku in company of Gov Samuel Ortom have visited those areas about five times in one year to seek for an end to the conflict.
But the bloodletting attitude of the Tiv has hindered success. Senator Akume enjoys seeing the Tiv and Jukun people kill themselves. He is the one the whole country should appeal to.
The Tiv youths he has sent to kill the Jukun should reject his money and his weapons and embrace peace with their Jukun neighbours. That is the quickest way to end this needless conflict.
