In what seems to be U-turn, the Ohinoyi Of Ebiraland, HRM Dr Ado Ibrahim, has described Governor Yahaya Bello’s first term as an experimental period where there might be some unavoidable mistakes.
The monarch, however, assured the people that Bello’s second term he would right the wrong of the first term, and build on existing success, Kogi Report confirmed this.
Ohinoyi made this known when he led the traditional rulers from the central Senatorial district of Kogi to pay sallah homage to the governor at his residence on Monday in Okene.
Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers, the Ohinoyi commended the governor’s achievements for the past three years in his first term, stressing the need for the people to rally round him for his re-election for second term.
Ohinoyi, who also doubles as the Vice Chairman, Kogi State Traditional Council Of Chiefs, noted that the peace the state was currently enjoying today was not there during the previous administrations.
The monarch, therefore, appealed to the people to rally round the governor for his second term bid, stressing that he deserved to be reelected.
In his remarks, the governor commended the monarchs for the unflinching support he had been receiving from them since his assumption of office three and half years ago, and urged them for continuous support.
The governor noted that the Ohinoyi remain the father of Ebiraland and such the father of all, command high respect and influence in Kogi central and the state at large.
He urged other traditional rulers in the area to rally round the paramount ruler for peace, development and progress of the area and the state in general.
The governor, however, urged the monarchs to unite and cooperate within themselves for peace and unity to thrive in the zone and in the state at large.
Ohinoyi while fielding questions from Dailytrust April this year extensively spoke on area the governor has failed in his interview the monarch said “Governor Bello relationship with Ebira people is a bit dented because he has more relationship with the Igala people, who are leading him in government. And they are the people I am now talking to so that they will have a change of mind and vote him back. Honestly, they have the votes. All I am trying to do is to get them to give him another term, after that if they don’t need to see his face anymore they can seal his fate. Whatever term they want to give, I’m prepared to go to any length. With good terms, they can relate again. I’m really trying to get my people to support his second term, but I know that they don’t want to hear me say that.”
