Pa Abutu alleged the recalcitrant attitude of the ambitious Engineer Musa Wada was unbecoming of his extraction, saying he turned down the admonition to withdraw out of the race for the former governor,Idris Wada “We did all we could as elders including that of Odu Ogboyaga,in the person of Senator Dr Alex Usman Kadiri and others to no avail” ” Engineer Musa Wada against our advice, went into the public to declare his ambition with a strong support of his brother in-law,Suleiman Ibrahim ”
” We foresaw the unhealthy family rivalry and needless acrimony the contest might arose, and endeavour to broker truce with stiff resistance from the younger Wada’s end” According to Elder Abutu, this statement was to exonerate the position of some elders who may be viewed as onlookers in the midst of bitter rivalry, and reiterated the need to embrace the spirit of give and take

The statement read:
So many who has worked for the former Governor Idris Wada today are working for me, i told him of my intention to run, after he declared that he will not run again, i did nothing bad after all,two brothers, Kabir Babba Kaita of the PDP and his younger brother, Ahmad Babba Kaita of the APC, are the two major contenders who will slug it out Saturday, August 11, 2018 during a by-election to fill the vacant seat of the Katsina North senatorial zone at the National Assembly., whoever emerges among us is a blessing”
” On moral ground, the two late entrants will have no choice than to step down or step aside,to allow seamless contest towards the next PDP primaries as well as preparation for November election were the chances of the party is daily growing with people’s acceptance ” “We must avoid needless rivalry and all hands must be on deck, to ensure uninterrupted victory of the party, in the next election in kogi” ” From East,West and Central, the massive acceptability of the people to realise the people’s expectation is irreversible and on course under our ambition “
