Social critic and activist, VeryDarkMan (VDM), has accused veteran actress and producer, Rita Daniels, of influencing her daughter, Regina Daniels’ marriage to billionaire politician, Senator Ned Nwoko, for financial gain.
In a video posted on his verified Instagram account, VDM alleged that Rita Daniels prioritised wealth over her daughter’s happiness. “Rita Daniels pushed her daughter into that marriage because of money. Regina was just 19 then; she didn’t even explore her youth before being handed over to a man old enough to be her father,” he claimed.
The outspoken activist argued that the actress was driven by material motives, insisting that her decisions have now contributed to Regina’s marital troubles. “Rita Daniels is the reason Regina is suffering now. She didn’t let her daughter live her life. She sold her off because she saw Ned’s billions. Now she’s crying foul. Regina still loves Ned; I can see it. But she’s a victim — a victim of her mother’s decisions,” he said.
The allegations come amid renewed controversy surrounding Regina Daniels’ marriage, as social media users refer to the unfolding events as “Season 2” of her marital crisis with Senator Nwoko.
Rita Daniels had earlier reacted to reports that the lawmaker ordered the arrest of her son and daughter. In a viral video, she accused Nwoko of acting irrationally and claimed that Regina had financially supported his political campaign.
“My daughter didn’t marry Ned because of money. It was Ned who married Regina because of her fame. He is broke; Regina gave him $50,000 for his election — that’s about ₦72 million,” Rita Daniels alleged.
Her comments quickly drew widespread reactions online, prompting VDM to respond again, maintaining that Rita should take responsibility for her role in her daughter’s situation.
Meanwhile, Regina Daniels has remained silent on the controversy, though previous reports suggested she accused her husband of domestic violence. Videos circulating on social media also show her mother pleading for the release of her son, Sammy, who she claimed remains in police custody.
