The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of four of its national officers, including the National Legal Adviser, Kamaldeen Ajibade (SAN), and National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, for one month. The decision follows an emergency NWC meeting held on Saturday in Abuja and is a direct consequence of a recent court ruling that stalled the party’s planned national convention.

The other suspended officers are the Deputy Legal Adviser, Okechukwu Osuoha, and the National Organizing Secretary, Umaru Bature.

Disclosing the development to the press, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, stated that the action was taken “in line with the party’s constitution.” Ologunagba confirmed that all four suspended officers have been referred to the PDP Disciplinary Committee for further action. The emergency NWC meeting took place at the party’s office, Legacy House, in Maitama, Abuja.
