The Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Hon. Muhammed Samaila Bagudo, was reportedly abducted by suspected bandits on Friday night in Bagudo town.
The incident occurred shortly after the Deputy Speaker observed prayers at the local mosque.

The Kebbi State Police Command, through its spokesperson CSP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the shocking development.
“Armed bandits on Friday night stormed Bagudo town with sophisticated weapons and abducted the Deputy Speaker at gunpoint and whisked him away to an unknown destination,” CSP Abubakar stated.
The Commissioner of Police, Bello Sani, has instituted a high-powered search and rescue team. The team comprises personnel from the:

“In view of the unfortunate incident, we have formed a strong rescue team and they are already combing bushes and forest to rescue him unhurt,” the Police Commissioner assured the public.
