The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially recognised Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the interim chairman of the party’s Adamawa State chapter, putting an end to speculations and internal disputes over the party’s leadership structure in the state.
In a statement released on Monday in Abuja, the National Publicity Secretary of ADC, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, clarified that the decision followed the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held on 8 October 2025, where it was agreed that Interim Executive Committees be constituted across states to manage party affairs temporarily.
According to Abdullahi, the process that produced Barrister Dasin, which was supervised by the National Vice Chairman for the North-East, fully complied with the party’s approved guidelines.
“After due investigations, the party considers the Saturday, October 25, process supervised by the National Vice Chairman for the North-East, which produced Barrister Sadiq Dasin as the interim party chairman in Adamawa State, to be in line with the NWC approval and guidelines,” he stated.
He acknowledged that there had been growing divisions within the Adamawa chapter, stressing that the party leadership is determined to restore unity and discipline.
“In view of the foregoing, the party wishes to encourage all members who have involved themselves in a separate arrangement to have a rethink and follow the path of reconciliation,” Abdullahi appealed.
He further urged the newly appointed interim chairman to foster peace within the state chapter. “Similarly, the party encourages the new interim chairman to extend the hand of fellowship to all and address genuine grievances,” the statement read.
Abdullahi reaffirmed the ADC’s commitment to fairness, justice, and internal democracy, noting that while the party is open to addressing legitimate concerns, it will not tolerate acts of indiscipline that undermine its rebuilding efforts.
“The party would like to restate its commitment to fairness and justice to all members, as well as its readiness to address genuine concerns. However, the party will not tolerate any act of indiscipline likely to jeopardise ongoing efforts to build a strong and truly democratic party,” he warned.
