Abuja is about to feel the pulse of Afrobeats like never before. Nigerian music superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has confirmed that the Federal Capital Territory will host its first-ever leg of his ongoing 5ive Alive Tour on Sunday, 14 December 2025 and the venue is none other than the iconic Eagle Square.
The announcement, made late Tuesday night via Davido’s social media platforms, sent fans into a frenzy. “Abuja Dec 14th. The #5iveAliveTour finally lands in the capital,” he wrote, unveiling the official tour poster that features the event date, venue, and sponsors.
The Abuja stop comes on the heels of a sold-out show in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, where Davido kicked off the Nigerian leg of the tour at the 30,000-capacity Godswill Akpabio International Stadium. The concert was described by attendees as “electric” and “unforgettable,” with the singer performing hits like Unavailable, Feel, Aye, and Holy Ground.
Davido’s decision to begin the Nigerian tour in Uyo was strategic.
“When we were looking around Africa, five places came, and Akwa Ibom was at the top of the list. You have a standard facility, that’s why we are starting here,” he said at a pre-concert reception.
The Uyo event also drew political heavyweights, including Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno. Akpabio praised Davido’s choice, saying, “We have the facilities and we have entertainment-loving people.” Governor Eno added, “You have taken your career to the zenith, and it is an inspiration to the youths.”
With Abuja now added, the 5ive Tour will span six major Nigerian cities: Uyo (Oct 26), Yola (Oct 29), Enugu (Nov 1), Ibadan (Nov 9), Abuja (Dec 14), and Lagos (Dec 25). The Lagos show will serve as a homecoming finale, capping off a tour that mirrors the scale and production of Davido’s North American run earlier this year.
For Davido, the Nigerian edition of the tour is more than a series of concerts; it’s a cultural homecoming.
“I’m blessed to perform all around the world, and everywhere I go, Nigeria goes with me. But this time, I’m bringing it home. This one’s for the culture. This one’s personal. This one’s for us,” he said.
