Popular Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe has advised young women to prioritise personal growth and self-development before desiring to marry rich or influential men.
The actor gave the advice while reacting to the wave of admiration his character, Odogwu, has received in the movie Love In Every World 2, where he plays the role of a generous billionaire lover.
Many social media users have flooded the internet with praises for Odogwu, describing him as the ideal type of man they wish to marry. However, Arukwe pointed out that the female lead in the movie, Chioma — played by Bambam — was already hardworking and valuable even before the wealthy character began supporting her.
He emphasised that men are naturally drawn to women who add value through hard work and self-worth rather than those who rely solely on a partner’s wealth.
In a post shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Arukwe wrote:
“While we are basking in our delulu, it’s important to remember that Odogwu saw Chioma as a valuable woman before throwing his full weight to support her. He didn’t even need to ask what she brings to the table because it was clear she’s an industrious woman. So as a woman, build value for yourself first, and your Odogwu will locate you to become your helpmate that makes everything easier to handle.”
