The Department of State Services (DSS) has intensified its efforts to safeguard national security, announcing a significant success with the interception of a large cache of sophisticated weapons in Delta State. The operation, a key component of the DSS’s mandate to thwart threats to public safety and internal stability, resulted in the recovery of the arms and the arrest of two suspects believed to be involved in the illicit trafficking.
The intelligence-led operation underscores the Service’s proactive strategy to choke off the supply routes for weapons used by criminal elements, including bandits, insurgents, and various non-state actors operating across Nigeria, OBSERVERS TIMES report
The DSS has launched a full-scale investigation to determine the origin of the seized weaponry, its intended destination, and the identities of any broader network involved.
