The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again reduced the ex-depot price of its cooking gas, cutting it from ₦810 to ₦760 per kilogram.
This latest reduction, which comes just days after the last price adjustment, is expected to further reshape Nigeria’s domestic gas market.
At ₦760 per kilogram, Dangote’s Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) now stands as the most affordable in the local market. In contrast, Matrix and Ardova depots are selling at ₦920 per kilogram, A.Y.M Shafa and NIPCO at ₦910, while Stockgap Depot tops the chart at ₦950 per kilogram.
The price gap — between ₦150 and ₦190 per kilogram — highlights Dangote’s aggressive strategy to drive competition and force a market-wide reduction in cooking gas prices.
Industry analysts believe the move is part of a broader plan to restore stability and discourage speculative pricing that has long plagued the LPG sector.
“Dangote’s post-maintenance price cut shows clear intent — not only to boost supply but to restore price discipline across the domestic gas market,” one analyst noted.
