The All Progressives Congress (APC) has launched a sharp rebuttal against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors following their criticism of the APC’s alleged undemocratic practices ahead of the 2027 elections. Felix Morka, APC National Publicity Secretary, described the PDP as a party “in deep comatose” and “crippled by intractable crisis of its own making.”
Morka said, “It is laughable that PDP governors, from a party crippled by its own crises and barely recognizable from its former self, are making statements that only highlight their own decline. The PDP has fallen into ruins and been rejected by Nigerians.” He urged the PDP to focus on reviving their failing party instead of leveling baseless accusations against the APC.
Highlighting recent by-election victories in Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano states, the APC credited President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” policies for resonating with Nigerians and driving public support. “The APC’s dominant victory in the just-concluded bye-elections attests loudly to the level that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope policies are resonating with Nigerians,” Morka asserted.
The party also accused PDP governors of hypocritically celebrating democracy in states they control, while decrying it in places where they lose.
“The victory or defeat of the PDP or other opposition parties is not, and cannot become, the barometer for measuring the credibility of our country’s electoral process,” the statement emphasized.
While recognizing President Tinubu’s economic policies have doubled federal allocations to states, APC claimed some PDP-led states have failed to deliver for their citizens. The party warned Nigerians against misleading rhetoric, urging continued support for their agenda aimed at “wholesome development and shared prosperity.”
