In a rousing appeal, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has called on northern political leaders to throw their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s quest for a second term, hailing him as a unifying force for Nigeria’s progress.
Speaking at the 2025 Dialogue Session of the Northern Caucus of the National Forum of Former Legislators in Abuja, Gbajabiamila championed Tinubu’s leadership credentials, spotlighting his commitment to equitable development across all regions. “President Tinubu is not merely a Southern leader; he is a national figure who has consistently prioritised inclusivity,” he declared. “From transformative infrastructure projects to bold policy reforms, the North is reaping the benefits of a government dedicated to fairness and shared prosperity.”
Gbajabiamila urged northern leaders to stand firm in supporting Tinubu’s vision, emphasising the need for continuity to cement the administration’s achievements. “We are building robust foundations for Nigeria’s future,” he said. “It is only fitting that President Tinubu be given the opportunity to complete the transformative work he has begun.”
The call comes as Tinubu’s administration pushes forward with ambitious reforms, including major investments in northern infrastructure, such as road networks and healthcare facilities, alongside policies aimed at boosting economic growth and security nationwide. Gbajabiamila’s plea underscores the critical role of regional unity in sustaining Nigeria’s momentum under Tinubu’s leadership.
