Shortly after being inaugurated as the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo wasted no time in announcing key appointments to his administration. Among those appointed is lawyer Musa Ikhilor, who will serve as the Secretary to State Government, SSG.
In addition, Okpebholo has nominated Samson Osagie for the position of Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole for the role of Commissioner for Health. However, the nominations of Osagie and Oshiomhole must first be confirmed by the Edo State House of Assembly.
Ikhilor brings over 11 years of experience in Legislative Drafting, Parliamentary Administration, Lawmaking procedure and processes, Constitutional drafting and amendment, and general Legislative Governance issues to his new role.
Osagie, a private legal practitioner, was called to the Nigerian Bar on March 22, 1995. He currently serves as Vice President of the African Bar Association (West African Region) and has previously held positions in the Edo State House of Assembly and House of Representatives.
Dr. Cyril Adams Oshiomhole, son of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, has an impressive academic background, including a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery from Ahmadu Bello University. He also holds a Master of Science in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, with a focus on Environmental Health, Toxicology, and Disaster Management. Oshiomhole furthered his education with postgraduate training at Harvard University and Queen Mary University, studying Clinical Research and Gastroenterology, respectively.
