Operation Haskanite: Chadian Forces eliminate 96 Boko Haram, loses 15 personnel killed in a deadly clash By: Zagazola Makama

The Chadian Defense and Security Forces said it killed 96 Boko Haram elements while it lost 15 of its personnel in a fierce battle with terrorists in the Lake Chad region.

The Chadian Army spokesperson, General Issakha Acheikh said in a statement on Sunday November 10, that 11 other terrorists  were wounded in the confrontation.

He said the forces also recovered 107 individual weapons and three collective weapons from the militants, along with destroying six canoes used by the group for movement and attacks.

On the side of the Chadian Defense and Security Forces, 15 soldiers tragically lost their lives on the “Field of Honor,” while 32 others sustained injuries and have since been evacuated to Ndjamena for urgent medical care.

The Chadian military spokesman did not disclosed the names of the senior military general who paid the supreme price during the encounter.

Zagazola had previously reported that the Chadian Army lost six senior officer including  General Youssouf Abdoulaye Kari, General Adoum Issa, Colonel Lony Allatchi, Lieutenant Colonel Gorou Wardougou, Adam Nassour Mahamat, and Idrissa Malloum.

General Youssouf Abdoulaye Kari, a veteran respected by his forces and a former member of Chad’s contingent in Mali, was among those killed, leaving a significant void in the military leadership.

The attack also left key figures wounded, such as General François Tatiko, General Moubarack Formalick, Bokhit Bachar, Lieutenant Jean Pierre Medar, and Ibrahim Ali.

while reacting to the incident, President Mahamat Idriss Déby, said following yesterday’s hanging between the SDF and a group of terrorists from the Boko Haram sect, I would like to salute the bravery of our valiant soldiers who fought a heroic fight destroying the group of enlightened people who ventured into our territory.
“I express my sincere condolences to the families of the martyrs who died defending the homeland during this hanging and wish the wounded a speedy recovery,”he said.
He said Operation Haskanite, in all its air, maritime and land components, continues to track down and treat the last element of this evil sect.
Zagazola understands that despite the murderous ambush against the Chadian troops, the President departed the country to Saudi Arabia for another official engagement.
