Finally, Court Of Appeal Sets Free Former Chief Justice Of Nigeria

The Court of Appeal has discharged and acquitted ex-CJN Justice Walter Onnoghen, from the conviction made by the Code of Conduct tribunal against him over non assets declaration.

The appellate court also ordered the federal government to unfreeze all the accounts of Justice Onnoghen, with the Standard Chattered Bank which were frozen at the time he was forcefully removed from office.

The court however upheld the terms of settlement presented by the appellant between him and the federal government.

Counsel for the Federal government Tijani Gazali agreed to the terms of settlement and adopted same.
