PANDEF Steps In to Reconcile Wike and Fubara feud

The Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), led by Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark, has set up a committee to reconcile Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara with his predecessor and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike.

The committee is headed by PANDEF’s Co-Chairman and former Akwa Ibom State governor, Obong Victor Attah.

The forum announced the birth of the committee in a communiqué issued yesterday over last Thursday’s special General Assembly meeting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The communiqué said the Assembly was jointly chaired by the first Military Governor of Rivers State, and Co-Chairman of PANDEF Board of Trustees (BoT), His Royal Majesty, King Alfred Diette-Spiff (Amayanabo of Twon Brass), and Obong Victor Attah.

The High Level Peace and Reconciliation Committee, according to the communiqué, was constituted to mediate on and resolve all disputes and conflicts within the area.

Other members of the committee are: Senators Emmanuel Ibok-Essien, Rowland Owie, and Stella Omu, as well as Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah, Pam Ogar, and Dr. Stella Dorgu.
