Senator Ali Ndume has called on President Bola Tinubu to continue with the dismissal of underperforming ministers following the recent cabinet reshuffle. In a statement, Ndume praised Tinubu for creating the Ministry of Regional Development but emphasized the need for more ministers to be removed for better government efficiency.
He also suggested that Tinubu should focus on joining BRICS to reduce dependency on the U.S. dollar and benefit Nigerian businesses involved in trade with China. Ndume recommended convening a national economic conference with key stakeholders to find local solutions for economic challenges.
While acknowledging the benefits of the reshuffle, Ndume stressed that more action is needed as some ministers are still not pulling their weight. He expressed satisfaction with the establishment of the Ministry of Regional Development and the President’s efforts to streamline ministries in order to cut the costs of governance.
