Nigerian crossdresser Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky, has been transferred to the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Lagos after spending a night in police custody.
According to police sources, Bobrisky was detained at a police facility following his arrest by officials from the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) during an attempt to leave the country via the Seme border. The crossdresser was reportedly brought to the FCID at around 10 PM on Monday.
A police source revealed, “Bobrisky was arrested at the Seme border and subsequently detained overnight before being transferred to the FCID.” The source noted that further instructions regarding his case are pending.
Mayegun Aminat, spokesperson for the FCID in Lagos, confirmed Bobrisky’s detention, stating, “He is currently with us at the FCID, Alagbon. We are in the process of obtaining a remand to keep him in custody.”
Kenneth Udo, spokesperson for the NIS, described Bobrisky as a “person of interest” in light of recent public concerns. He stated, “In line with our commitment to border security, the Nigeria Immigration Service intercepted Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme border while he attempted to exit the country. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.”
