The Kogi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced its return, rebranded and rejuvenated, with a commitment to constructively engage the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Speaking to the media in Lokoja, Alhaji Tijani Aruwa, the newly inaugurated State Publicity Secretary, emphasized that the PDP is ready to provide a viable opposition to the APC, ensuring that the state is not dominated by a single party.

Aruwa appealed to members who defected to the Social Democratic Party (SDP), APC, Labour Party (LP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC) to return to the PDP, stressing that the party’s umbrella is large enough to accommodate everyone.

The party also urged those who didn’t secure their desired positions in the recent party elections to demonstrate sportsmanship, emphasizing that every position is temporary and should be secondary to the interest of the suffering people of Kogi State

Aruwa criticized the APC’s mismanagement of state resources, noting that despite increased allocations, the state has little to show for it. He reminisced about the PDP’s inclusive government, which achieved more with meager allocations.

The opposition spokesman encouraged the younger generation to see themselves as integral to the renewed PDP, promising to groom them for future leadership roles.

Aruwa concluded by appealing to aggrieved members to return to the party, emphasizing the need for unity in the face of the APC’s mismanagement.
