The National Assembly Service Commission NASC and by extension the National Assembly under the leadership of Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi FNSE and his commissioners from the six geopolitical zones has taken the activities of the commission to greater heights, all in efforts to equate it’s services to the new order.

This efforts had paid off in the last three years down the line as the consistent training and retraining both locally and internationally had been sustained among staffers at all levels and management cadre.

With renewed vigour under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the commission had ensured capacity building as part of the core mandate and requirements to galvanize genuine service by its staff at the commission and the National Assembly.

The result of the all inclusive capacity building for staffers had affected positively staff productivity, approach to efficient and effective service, initiatives and innovations that had transformed amd improved service delivery both to the lawmakers and ordinary Nigerians.

This was evident in the series of modest capacity building and development along with orientation of its staff with modern technology in line with the best practices.

To justify its efforts , the annual training of legislative aides and staff of the National Assembly had gave credence to the activities of the commission in the area of performance, service delivery and quick response to the demands of their jobs.

Impressed by the new order, the commission recently in a message to series of the technology driven training to staffers commended the response drive of staff who have consigned themselves in line with the new order.

While asking them to sustain the tempo during the training and to display instant conviction to justify the huge investment, the Executive Chairman, National Assembly Service Commission NASC, Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi FNSE represented by one of his commissioners expressed strong conviction that rebuilding capacity in modern and modest way was the best efforts that was paying off at the National Assembly.

“The Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission, Ahmed Kadi Amshi, who was represented by the Commissioner in charge of Southwest, Akamo Olabode, stated that the public is looking forward to an efficient, effective, and responsive governance which requires technologically driven workforce from the National Assembly.
Amshi urged staff to redouble their efforts to deliver high standards of service and support to National Assembly members.”

“He reiterated the importance of staff training, process streamlining, and innovation to enhance productivity and responsiveness.”

“The chairman restated the necessity for the commission to be a model of good governance, earning the trust of the National Assembly leadership and the citizens they serve.”

“Amidst a backdrop of evolving political landscapes and societal transformation, Chairman Amshi expressed his deep honor in leading the distinguished institution and collaborating with its committed staff.”

“He highlighted the privilege and responsibility they all share in supporting the crucial work of the elected representatives in the National Assembly.”

“In these times of change and challenges, it is more important than ever that we redouble our efforts to deliver the highest standards of service and support,” remarked Chairman Amshi during his address.

The messages of the Chairman , National Assembly Service Commission NASC, Engr Ahmed Kadi Amshi FNSE which came up at the backdrop of the training of legislative aides and staff of the National Assembly in the intermediate cadre from levels 10-14 separately in July and August 2024 was inspirational and encouraging.

He reiterated the commitment of the commission to sustain the tempo of staff development not only to ensure efficiency and effective service delivery, but to enhance innovation, initiatives that will be in tandem with the present global demands.

With the theme of this year’s capacity building separately harped on “Building the Capacity and Enhancing the Performance of Legislative Aides” held for three days and the four days programs for staff of the National Assembly tagged “Reorientation for Improved Productivity and Effective Service Delivery ” for about 350 staffers, noted the same activity held in 2023 were about 3,990 staff of the service was trained .

While underscoring the importance of the training of both legislative aides and staff of the National Assembly, the assurance that the two arms of the National Assembly consisting of 109 Senators and 360 House of Representatives members will benefit hugely through improvement of their core mandate assignment while at the National Assembly serving out their four years term that will subject to renewal through an electoral process .

For Kadi and his commissioners , under the present dispensation of Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, continuous building of capacity of the workforce was a corollary to unique and exceptional performance.
