Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has fallen victim to an elaborate fraud scheme, resulting in the loss of a private jet valued at $6.3 million. According to documents and sources, Governor Lawal purchased the jet in 2014 through a jet-leasing company, Jet Leasing Support Services Ltd, operated by a Nigerian couple, Ovi and Gloria Osazele.

Unbeknownst to Governor Lawal, the couple allegedly engaged in fraudulent activities, leading to the jet’s ownership being transferred to Ovi Osazele’s name. Despite efforts to resolve the matter, the dispute remains unresolved.

Governor Lawal’s involvement in this incident has raised questions about his financial dealings and judgment. Previously, he was linked to a multibillion-dollar money-laundering scandal involving former Petroleum Minister Diezani Allison-Madueke, which he denied any wrongdoing in.

The loss of the private jet has sparked concerns about the security of high-profile individuals’ assets and the need for vigilance in financial transactions.
